Expo 2025 World Cuisines — Everywhere In Japan!

Today, world cuisines of 70 countries appeared at Kura Sushi chain restaurants all over Japan as part of a 2025 World Expo campaign. For practical reasons, each restaurant only features one world cuisine in addition to the standard menu. You’d currently have to eat at 70 restaurants to taste all the dishes… Still, that’s great for international travellers visiting Japan before the Expo, and for residents who will not attend it.

The Kura Sushi closest to my Tokyo home sold Pappa Roti coffee buns associated to the United Arab Emirates, shown on the photo in my Bluesky post. Nicely complementing the standard menu, it was dense but not hard, with abundant coffee-flavoured sauce.

From 13 April to 13 October 2025, these 70 world cuisines will appear on the menu of the temporary Kura Sushi Osaka-Kansai Expo restaurant at the Expo 2025 venue in Osaka. Consider eating there if you’re a foodie in Japan during that event, or if you need vegan, vegetarian, or Muslim-friendly dishes 👍

Today, cuisines of 70 countries appeared at Kura Sushi restaurants all over #Japan. My nearest sold Pappa Roti coffee buns representing the United Arab Emirates. To taste the 70 (vegan, vegetarian, Muslim-friendly…) in 1 place, eat at its 2025 #WorldExpo restaurant in #Osaka between April & October.
