Tokyo has few vegan restaurants, and few restaurants propose vegan options in Tokyo. Still, more than elsewhere in Japan…
Note: See the page of vegetarian restaurants in Tokyo if you can eat cheese, etc.
Vegan restaurants I tried in May 2018:
- Komaki Syokudo: Quiet vegan restaurant inside Chabara in Chiyoda ward (Akihabara Electric Town). Shojin-ryori Zen cuisine with menu in Japanese and English! Lunch photos: Cobon yeast drink in sparkling water, fermented brown rice, excellent soup, delicious pumpkin, tasty paste on a doughnut… 🙂

Restaurants with vegan food options I tried in 2018:
- Soranoiro Kojimachi-honten: Restaurant in Chiyoda ward near the National Theatre of Japan. Photo: ramen Japanese noodles in soup; this vegan lunch was very tasty 🙂

- The Pink Cow Roppongi: Restaurant & art bar in Minato ward near Roppongi station. Mexican food, maybe the best burritos in Tokyo! Fine ambiance with paintings and changing lights, English-speaking staff… Dinner photos: fruit juice, salad, vegan burrito (black beans and vegetables).
